The development center of SAP in Bulgaria plays a key role in the defining and developing of the SAP Business Technology Platform. With its more than 1400 professionals, SAP Labs Bulgaria also has strong contributions toward life-cycle management, user interface & user experience across the broader portfolio of SAP products and has recently welcomed new teams focusing on business applications. For its 24-year history, the company has established itself as a preferred employer in the IT sector in Bulgaria.

The Project

Now Cloud Foundry has reached to a new era, where it aims to reach higher levels of portability and community adoption. The team designs, maintains and operates Diego and the container networking services comprising the Cloud Foundry Application Runtime with a deep focus over stability, security and performance. Furthermore, care is taken to integrate the aforementioned open-source components into Business Technology Platform.

We are working diligently to ensure that the largest productive Cloud Foundry environments across the Globe continue to be highly available and scalable.

• Fluent in English, ideally fluent in Bulgarian too

Required Skills and Competencies:

• Solid experience in software application development
• Good understanding of modern cloud architectures
• Proficient in debugging and problem-solving
• Enthusiastic about automation
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Concourse)
• Familiarity with source control systems
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools (ELK, RIG)
• Excellent communication skills, factual and precise
• Experience in an Agile environment

Professional Experience (at least 5 areas):

• Proficiency in at least one programming language (Golang, Python, Ruby, Bash)
• Strong knowledge of design patterns and coding practices
• Solid understanding of algorithms and data structures
• Unix/Linux and systems programming
• Networking (OSI, protocols like TCP, HTTP, SSH, DNS, iptables, load balancing)
• Distributed systems (microservices, API gateways, service discovery)
• Security (encryption, certificates, mTLS, oAuth2, firewalls)
• Database management (relational schema design, PostgreSQL)
• Day-2 operations

Advantages:

• Test-first development
• Pair programming
• Experience with AWS, Azure, GCP, or AliCloud
• Cloud technologies (Cloud Foundry, Kubernetes, Heroku)
• Containerization
• Familiarity with the 12-factor app methodology
• Experience working in a multicultural, global team setup

Work experience
5+ years of experience in the areas of software development, support and/or operations.
