The development center of SAP in Bulgaria plays a key role in the defining and developing of the SAP Business Technology Platform. PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

SAP Edge Lifecycle Management is an orchestration solution that enables customers to register Edge computing sites in their cloud tenant and let them run selected containerized Edge applications.

With our Edge Lifecycle Management we provide a shipment channel for SAP Cloud products to deliver & manage containerized SAP workloads to Edge Computing sites.

The tooling & shipment channel is modelled in a way that it is open to ALL SAP Cloud based applications.

It offers a convenient way to standardize the entire SAP Software Lifecycle for Edge usage: Initial Setup, Application Deployment, Operations, Maintenance, Update, Monitoring, Termination

We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team and work on the design and implementation of the next generation of services for lifecycle management of cloud-based SAP business applications and services. You will get the opportunity to work with the most trending technologies that drive the next wave of enterprise grade applications. The team is focused on building microservices-based architecture into the cloud for management of containerized applications running in IoT Edge environment. You will work in a collaborative, positive and diverse team, together with young talents as well as established professionals.

What you’ll do:

• Driving and actively participating in all phases of the software services development, from design discussions, implementation, testing, to deployment and operations

• Lead the development and implementation of CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and deployment processes
• Actively contributing to the process of continuous improvement, with regards to personal, team and services.
• Researching and reasoning about the most suitable approach or technology to solve a particular problem in a simple, reliable way
• Embed Security and Compliance in every part of the development lifecycle
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues, handle incidents and introduce root cause analysis
• Establishing good practices for high code quality within the team. Apply unit and integration tests, test automation and perform code reviews.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATION / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

Mandatory:

• Use and knowledge of common build tools, repositories and CD/CI tooling, experience in test automation
• Experience with Linux/UNIX
• Technical skills to work with VCS (Git preferable)
• Experience with Kubernetes and Docker/containers
• Experience with various Cloud services in AWS, GCP and MS Azure
• Professional experience in software development and service development and operations
• Coding skills, preferably with Java and/or Go

Advantage:

• Experience with IoT/Industry 4.0
• Knowledge and experience with Python/Go
• Knowledge and experience with micro-service architectures

• Skills and Competencies:
• University degree in Computer Science or related field
• Strong collaboration both within the team and across other infrastructure and development teams
• Excellent team player, self-motivated, passionate about technology
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Fluency in English

WORK EXPERIENCE

• Experience as a DevOps Engineer, with a strong background in software development and infrastructure management
• At least 5 years of experience as developer or DevOps engineer in Kubernetes and Java stack in an Agile environment
• Experience with customer requirements and managing expectations from product owner
