What you’ll build:

As a Senior DevOps Engineer on the Central Development & Operations (DevOps) team for the SAP Cloud ALM (CALM), you will be pivotal in guaranteeing the reliability and outstanding performance of SAP Cloud ALM. Based in the EMEA time zone, you'll play an integral role in daily operations, handling tasks such as incident management, resource consumption management, change management, service level management and test management while collaborating across organizations to develop proactive solutions and automate DevOps and SRE topics. You will closely collaborate with the German team and managerial staff;

You will manage community best practices, tooling, and processes through AI frameworks, and provide Development/Operations (DevOps) and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) support alongside MoD’s @ CALM. You will ensure seamless operations and reliability across diverse markets, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and learning within SAP Cloud ALM project teams. What you bring:

• Educational & Professional Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent work experience), with at least 3 years in SAP cloud DevOps/SRE for SaaS products and services.
• Technical & Cloud Expertise: Proficient in system administration, networking, security, automation, monitoring, and performance tuning of Java/JavaScript/Node.js microservices on SAP BTP Cloud Foundry; experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• DevOps & Automation Skills: Experienced in cloud-native development and CI/CD processes, as well as infrastructure-as-code tools and platforms such as SAP Cloud Orchestrator, Automation Pilot, Jira, GitHub/Actions, Jenkins, and WebDriver IO.
• Service Reliability & Monitoring: Understanding of cloud application design and site reliability engineering principles, with practical ability to analyze and resolve service issues using tools such as Dynatrace, Grafana, Kibana, Elastic Search, AVS Kiosk, or Splunk.
• AI & Programming Experience: Familiarity or hands-on work with generative AI frameworks (especially with BTP AI core service), plus strong programming/scripting abilities in languages such as Java, Node.js, Python, Bash, and PowerShell.
• Customer Focus & Crisis Management: Able to take responsibility during critical customer situations, lead bridge calls, engage in stakeholder communication, and develop a holistic understanding of issues even those outside direct responsibilities; customer-centric and anticipates customer needs. Knowledge of SAP Cloud ALM platforms and the Deploy with Confidence (DwC) framework is a plus.
• You will closely collaborate with the German team and managerial staff; we expect autonomous and proactive working style in developing creative solutions and driving ideas forward without direct supervision.
• Growth Mindset & Communication: Demonstrates a proactive attitude, strong problem-solving skills, willingness to learn, and excellent communication abilities in English (German a plus).
