Summary
Managing environmental sustainability is a strategic purpose of SAP and SAP defines environmental standards in the industry. In addition, regulations around sustainability evolve to which SAP must continuously adapt. The offered role is part of the data center and infrastructure team that drives SAP’s Cloud infrastructure management of environmental sustainability evolution, reporting and reduction of its footprint.
The Role
As analyst for environmental sustainability SAP´s cloud data center infrastructure lifecycle services, your tasks are the following:
· Work with major public cloud providers and other service providers to set up accurate emissions reporting, align on common sustainability goals, track execution of reduction measures
· Support the integration of new public cloud service providers into the SAP sustainability end-to-end processes and tools.
· Work w SAP’s suppliers, external institutions and SAP experts (e.g. controlling) to analyze data and use it to project and define tomorrow’s environment and technologies and by this keep SAP in the leading position in the industry.
· Define measures to reduce environmental footprint (emissions, e-waste, water) and run projects to implement them.
· Translate applicable governmental regulation and identify the impact to SAP´s cloud services operations and ensure to keep SAP compliant.
· Support implementing SAP sustainability solutions for internal use
What you bring
· Interest and experience w current and upcoming sustainability requirements in the data center & infrastructure industry
· Interest and experience w current and upcoming governmental regulations, e.g., the European green deal and the EU sustainable finance taxonomy
· Interest and experience with data center hardware and cloud infrastructure and artificial intelligence technology, including technical and regulatory aspects of energy efficiency optimization
· Ability to combine technical, business and regulatory aspects/requirements as needed to work on sustainability topics
· Ability to efficiently communicate and collaborate with a diverse set of SAP colleagues, partner and regulating institutions.
· Interest and experience with project management
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Creativity, curiosity, and ability to learn fast in a new environment like Cloud and data centers
· English language skills

Global Cloud Infrastructure & Delivery (GCID) is the CORE of SAP’s Cloud Strategy.
· As part of the Customer Service & Delivery board area, the GCID team is SAP's Cloud Infrastructure provider. It is responsible for running SAP’s backend technology including operations of state-of-the-art data centers around the globe. GCID acts in a shared services
mode for internal SAP customers across all board areas and is one important pillar of SAP’s cloud strategy.
· Within GCID and among other responsibilities, the Data Center Infrastructure Lifecycle unit is globally responsible for various data center and infrastructure lifecycle services. The unit drives environmental sustainability as it’s the data centers where the ecological footprint materializes.
· GCID operates ~45 data centers and consumes services from hyperscalers in ~140 different regions worldwide
