About the team:
Availability of our products in local languages is a key success factor for selling SAP software globally. The Language Experience (LX) unit within SAP User Enablement provides translation and translation-related services for SAP solutions and non-product assets into more than 80 languages. The translation service teams support our internal development units as well as internal customers such as the SAP Board, HR, Marketing, Support and Learning. They offer consulting, planning, technical support and linguistic services in close collaboration with more than 2,500 translators and partners world-wide.

We are looking for a working student or an intern who supports the project management for Corporate Content projects as well as strategic projects like the introduction of Neural Machine Translation and Cloud-based translation tools as well as initiatives to simplify the tool and process landscape.

What you’ll do:
Position title: SAP Communication iXp Intern (f/m/d) - Translation Project Management Team

Location: St. Leon-Rot (remote work possible within Germany)


In this role, you’ll:
You will be supporting our team of project managers as well as the team lead of the Corporate Content team with a number of administrative but also innovative tasks:

  • Support project management colleagues in handling of external translation requests
  • Subtitling service support:
  • Handling of requests for post-editing of automatically generated subtitles
  • Testing and evaluation of new subtitling processes
  • Creation of subtitling guidelines for the hard-of-hearing
  • Testing of new translation editor XTM
  • Evaluation of machine translation output
  • Query Management for translation requests
  • Approve invoices
  • Alignments of already source and target files to feed translation memories for different languages
  • Support documentation efforts
  • Support translators and PMs in terminology work
  • Possibly support set-up and evaluation of surveys


Ideally, you can spare a complete term to stay with us for six months full-time (which would be our preference).
Alternative you could join our team as a working student for six months at least. As a working student, you are expected to work up to 20 hours during the term and up to 40 hours during term break.
Ideally, you still have a few terms ahead of you so that you stay with us even longer than the six months. 


Who you are:
You are a student (f/m/d) at a university or a university of applied sciences. We’re looking for someone who takes initiative, perseveres, and stay curious. You like to work on meaningful innovative projects and are energized by lifelong learning.

  • Preferred fields of study: linguistics, translation, computer linguistics
  • Computer skills:  Excellent knowledge of industry standard tools in the translation field (e.g. SDL Trados Studio and XTM), excellent knowledge about Office tools, knowledge about Adobe InDesign and related tools is a plus
  • Language skills: fluent in English and German, an additional language is a plus 
  • Soft skills: team player, ability to work under time pressure, very organized with high attention to detail
  • Very thorough understanding translation processes
