PURPOSE & ROLE PROFILE

We are pleased to announce that we have a hybrid position (50/50 time split) available for a combined APJ Regional Customer Officer role and APJ Regional Innovation Manager within SAP Innovation Services. The role will report into the COO team and sit within the Global Customer Office, reporting directly into Torsten Wolf as the Global Head of Customer Office.

This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the fastest growing areas of our business focused on Intelligent Technologies and be part of a diverse team focused on driving SAP’s innovation growth. SAP Innovation Services team is in its second full year of operation in 2019, set-up by the SAP board as the global innovation incubation unit in SAP’s Digital Business Services. Our mission is to incubate new services and help our customers make business sense and opportunity of intelligent technologies to accelerate their journey towards the Intelligent Enterprise.

Regional Customer Officer (RCO) role and responsibilities are outlined below:

The Regional Customer Officer (RCO) is the ambassador of the global Innovation Services team in the region to scale the customer innovation adoption in context of strategic and lighthouse engagements in collaboration with the regional, MU and services and extended virtual account teams.

Embedding the customer office programs (e.g. lighthouse customer program) in the regional context will be key to accelerate the innovation services business impact for DBS and across SAP. The RCO will be a driving force to further strengthen the collaboration between the region/global, and MU to localize innovation growth initiatives and to identify regional success patterns to be shared as global best practice.

The RCO role will be expected to lead the following activities:

  • Act as an innovation leader to establish trusted engagements with the innovation relevant senior stakeholders at the regional and MU level across board area: DBS, GCO and wider SAP management context to establish a “One SAP Innovation Services” approach and mindset
  • Coordinate the identification, qualification, review and acceleration of (cross-SAP) Customer Innovation Lighthouse Engagements as the regional leader of the global program, meet and achieve the set targets for the region sharing pipeline and providing accurate forecasting monthly
  • Build account relationships and collaborate proactively to develop trusted and deep relationships with both SAP internal and customer stakeholders (relevant to Lighthouse targets)
  • Drive value realization - understand customer needs, and how to leverage SAP Innovation Services capabilities to address them
  • Proactively engage strategic customers (e.g. focus on SCP market segment) to ensure adoption of SAP’s intelligent enterprise and innovation services offerings
  • Advocate for and become the voice of customer within SAP; understand competitive threats and manage escalations accordingly, to ensure customer success
  • Manage reference-ability - drive innovation services customer references and business transformation stories, in collaboration with the global team and associated marketing and communications stakeholders
  • Manage, track, and update key account activities in terms of lighthouse engagements and cross SAP business impact
  • Be an innovation multiplier in customer related demand generation, go-to-market and strategic delivery activities to support the innovation services business

     

    Regional Innovation Manager (RIM) role and responsibilities are outlined below:

    The Regional Innovation Manager (RIM) will play an active role in Innovation Services led customer programs in the region to scale the customer innovation adoption in context of strategic and lighthouse engagements in collaboration with the regional, MU and services and extended virtual account teams.

    OUR EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

  • Work in applied business innovation projects and initiatives of global SAP strategic customers
  • Development of innovative digital, analogue and hybrid catalyst use cases, business models and scenarios using intelligent technologies
  • Develop and run lean-start up based innovation projects
  • Manage complex co-innovation initiatives
  • Enable SAP customers to adapt and use the SAP innovation methodologies, intelligent technologies, innovation processes and tools
  • Combine experimental thinking in the design stage of innovation with operational excellence in the subsequent transformation phase
  • Drive innovation management capabilities through the customer organization and the SAP organization
  • Run business-led initiatives, including visual design and visual documentation, mock-up creation, user research.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

The ideal candidate for this role is a business focussed strategic thinker and solution architect, people orientated and confident problem solver who desires being part of a fast growth and busy environment. They will have a passion for intelligent technology such as blockchain, machine learning, IOT and predictive analytics and how these technologies drive businesses and disruption.

Work experience and minimum qualifications

  • Minimum 8-10 years professional work experience spanning strategy, project management, business development and consulting
  • Knowledge of digital transformation from a consulting, technology, delivery or industry context 
  • Expert knowledge of at least one of the major SAP Leonardo technologies from a business aspect
  • Knowledge of mega trends in business and technology and in major industries
  • Master of Business Administration or equivalent preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of SAP’s internal processes
  • Advanced C-Level executive conversation skills
  • Solid work experience leading projects, teams or organisations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Practical work experience in the application of innovation tools and concepts, such as agile management are a plus
  • Proven track record in driving ideas through maturity stages in diverse international and cross-cultural environments
  • Experience in Design Thinking, innovation management, lean start-up organizations, innovation projects and/or research and development
  • Experience in development of business models and business cases
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant professional work experience in innovation consulting or as an entrepreneur, preferably at a top-tier innovation consulting firm, corporate innovation or strategy group
  • Fluent English
