What you’ll do:

Position title: Intern at APJ Platform & Integration Labs – Generative AI & SAP

Location: Tokyo, Japan – please note that roles will be remote until local guidelines ensure safe office reopening

Expected start date to end date: August 2023 or later for 6 to 9 months

In this role, you’ll:

As an intern, your primary focus will be on prototyping topics, where you will have the opportunity to dive into SAP business solutions and leverage the power of the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) - SAP's renowned cloud platform for our esteemed customers.

Be prepared to immerse yourself in diverse and thrilling prototyping projects spanning various fields, such as connected plants, Digital supply chain, applied AI, cloud computing, and beyond. We believe in the strength of interdisciplinary collaboration, striving to deliver end-to-end solutions that truly enhance value for our customers.

In your role, you will take part in exciting assignments, where you'll be tasked with transforming business use cases into fully functional prototypes using the latest SAP and Non-SAP technologies. These prototypes play a pivotal role, as they will be showcased to our customers during demonstrations, featured in our Experience Center, and showcased across various events and social media platforms.

As a student intern in our team, you can expect a rewarding experience working alongside our experienced team members. Your key responsibilities will revolve around the following areas:

1. Prototyping with Cutting-Edge Technologies: You will have the opportunity to work on exciting prototype projects, harnessing the potential of both SAP and Non-SAP technologies. These projects may involve Industry 4.0, Mobile technologies, system integration, applied or generative AI, or similar innovative scenarios. Under the guidance of our team, you will contribute to building functional and impactful prototypes that address real-world challenges.
2. Project Planning and Management: During your internship, you will learn valuable skills in planning, managing, and executing projects. Collaborating with our experienced professionals, you'll gain hands-on experience in project workflows, task prioritization, and effective coordination. This exposure will be invaluable in understanding project lifecycles and enhancing your project management capabilities.
3. Documentation and Presentation: As part of the internship, you will be responsible for documenting the development process and outcomes of the prototypes you work on. Clear and concise documentation is essential for knowledge sharing within SAP and beyond. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to present your findings and achievements, both internally within SAP and on social media platforms. This will give you a chance to showcase your work and communicate your ideas effectively to a wider audience.

Education and qualifications/ Skills and Competencies needed for this role:

• University student 
• Business level of Japanese launguage skill is essencial.
• Hands on experience in developing innovative applications using modern technology platforms and cloud infrastructures such as SAP BTP or GCP.
• Programming expertise in any of these fields: C, C++, Go, JavaScript/ Node.js or Python.
• Interest to work with generative AI/ LLMs
• Knowledge of a UI framework like Angular or React is a plus.
• Knowledge of Docker and/or Kubernetes will be useful.
• If available it’s a plus: knowledge of microcontroller programming (Arduino, ESP32, STM32 and the like).
• Ability to communicate in English language (not to perfection), any other language an asset.
