This Business Technology Platform COE Specialist will be responsible for scaling the selling motions of Business Technology Platform within the given Market Unit (Japan). The role will work with local teams identifying, executing the sales plays as well as creating and running Demand Generation programs, progressing the deals towards closure, and enabling and scaling the local sales teams. This is a role with responsibility for growing Business Technology Platform Business in the allocated MU’s.


Key responsibilities of the CP COE Expert:

  • Create and execute demand generation programs
  • Progress deals by organising workshops and drive sales opportunities especially in the top deals
  • Strategic Deal support for Business Technology Platform
  • Collaborate with internal expert teams to quickly take advantage of global best practices
  • Collaborate and build relationships with the SAP Sales teams
  • Drive Enablement Activities both internally and externally to help to scale local teams
  • Sales and pipeline reporting
  • Be a go-to-person for field colleagues looking for all support and advice around Business Technology Platform
  • Be a domain expert for Business Technology Platform
  • Constantly evangelize Business Technology Platform


Skills & Competencies

  • Expert business knowledge of the PaaS markets, including deep knowledge of the offerings in the market today
  • Experience pricing, packaging, and taking solutions to market
  • Solution understanding of SAP’s software portfolio
  • Ability to work effectively in a complex matrix environment and virtual team.
  • Excellent communication (oral and written), presentation, program management, and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to travel  (25%- 50% travel)
  • A self starter, with energy and drive and the ability to manage multiple priorities.



  • 7+ years experience in Platform Solution/Product, with experience in business development
  • Sales exposure, as well as working with development at an enterprise software vendor.
  • Experience at a large, multi-national software/technology organization is a plus.
  • 4+ years experience with Cloud solutions. Experience with Cloud Business Models is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of SAP Business Technology Platform solutions, business strategy, and operating procedures is a plus..
  • Master Degree in Computer Science or related field OR Bachelors Degree in Computer Science with experience, Management Degree will be a plus.



  • Fluency in Japanese
  • Fluency in English
