What you’ll do

 

Position Title: SAP iXp Intern - Front-End Software Developer

 

Location: Vancouver, BC

 

Expected Start Date: July 2024

 

Contract Duration: 6 months

 

Work Hours: 40 hours per week

 

The Plutus team is seeking a front-end software development intern to assist our team in financial reporting and tracking savings of central RI management. With a focus on central RI reporting and savings, the intern will play a vital role in advancing our UI application. By integrating dynamic reporting functionalities and leveraging generative AI, our goal is to provide users with intuitive and insightful tools for monitoring and optimizing their investments and savings strategies. This internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge developments in financial technology while gaining hands-on experience in UI design and implementation within a dynamic and collaborative team environment. They will contribute directly to the Plutus application by developing new features and improving existing features with guidance from out senior developers.

Position Requirements: 

  • Understanding of software applications, software development lifecycle, and development methodologies (Agile/Scrum) 
  • Strong programming skills and experience with object-oriented languages such as Java 
  • Strong proficiency in front-end development languages (JavaScript, HTML, CSS) 
  • Familiarity with development tools such as Git and JIRA 
  • Flexibility to work with a global team in various time zones 
  • Clear and concise communication, both verbal and written 
  • Strong desire to interact with and learn from senior members of the team 

 

Nice to Have: 

  • Familiarity with hyperscalers like AWS, Azure, GCP, & basic understanding of cloud cost management 
  • JavaScript framework - Ui5 experience preferred  
  • Java framework (Spring Boot) experience preferred 
  • DevOps experience preferred  
  • Experience with databases (PostgreSQL) preferred 
  • UI Unit and/or E2E Testing experience preferred 

 

Educational requirements: 

  • Currently studying or have recently completed an undergraduate or graduate program in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or Information Systems

We are a full-stack development team. We use JavaScript, UI5, and Node.js for Web UI development and our backend services are using Java Spring Boot. We also manage CI/CD pipelines for our services using Azure. In addition to these technical skills, you will get to work in a highly collaborative environment using agile software development methodologies.

SAP provides the hourly base salary rate range applicable for the posted role. The targeted range for this position is 24-40 CAD.
