What you’ll do

 

Position Title: SAP iXp Intern - SAP Concur App Center Full Stack Developer

 

Location: Vancouver, BC

 

Expected Start Date: 9 Sep 2024

 

Contract Duration: 8 months

 

Work Hours: 40 hours per week

As a Software Developer Intern on the Concur Platform Engineering team in Vancouver, Canada, you will be taking on Concur App Center to the next level: scaling the architecture while building new, elastically scalable microservices.  You will have an opportunity to work across the full stack — from UI clients, server applications and data stores to delivery pipelines and infrastructure. 

 

What you’ll do: 

  • Build web apps and cloud services in a microservice architecture
  • Understand, iterate on, and make changes to code used by customers
  • Scale and improve software systems spanning multiple teams
  • Debug and understand the root cause of problems 
  • Problem solve with a team of experienced engineers
  • Improve your technical, architecture, leadership, presentation, and teamwork skills
  • Own services end-to-end, including developing code, test automation, devops, troubleshooting and resolving production problems

Education Requirements: 

  • Working on or recently achieved a bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer/software engineering or equivalent

 

Position Requirements: 

  • Working part of the week in person with the team on the Vancouver, BC office
  • Curiosity and desire to learn, investigate complex issues, and improve your technical skills
  • Ability to work in team settings.
  • Familiarity with Linux, MacOS

 

Desired Skills/Qualifications:

  • Experience using NodeJS, specifically ExpressJS, React, Redux, MongoDB. (Important)
  • Experience using Docker and/or Kubernetes (desired)
  • Experience with AWS services and concepts (desired)
  • Familiarity with web architecture: networking, authentication and encryption (JWT, X509, SSL), AJAX, cyber security, CDNs, monitoring (desired but less important)
  • Ability to take initiative and investigate solutions independently
  • Test automation
