What you'll do
We are looking for experienced Kubernetes and Gitops professionals to take the lifecycle management of BTP platform services and applications to the next level.
You will design and build the technological foundation required to provide a harmonized software lifecycle management experience across different SAP cloud products. The technology must meet the specific requirements given by SAP public cloud environments as well as the requirements imposed by extremely isolated environments (aka private cloud), potentially air-gapped software delivery targets.
As Development Architect (f/m/d), you will:
- Own, verify, and drive the development of concepts allowing the deployment of software and services globally, on-scale and cloud-native style
- Present the work to C-level executives, build strategic partnerships with stakeholders, help in managing potential escalations, build credibility and trust with all involved parties
- Provide technical leadership to the agile development teams implementing the solution
The position can be filled in other locations in Germany.
What you bring
- 5+ years of experience designing software architectures for complex, distributed systems as well as professional experience in cloud-native and open-source development practices
- Solid hands-on experience with cloud technologies like Kubernetes, containers, microservice architectures, and various Hyperscaler APIs as well as with GitOps and associated technologies (Git, Flux, ArgoCD, Helm, Kustomize…)
- Solid understanding of SBOM formats and formal software delivery requirements; Work experience with modern CI/CD pipelines
- Solid hands-on experience in at least one scripting and one programming language (Python and GoLang preferred) and with Unix/Linux
- In-depth knowledge of SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) would be a big plus
- You have a can-do attitude and very strong communication and interpersonal skills; you are confident talking to C-level stakeholders and capable of driving architectural vision across LoBs boundaries

The Private and Restricted Cloud team is responsible for driving and executing the SAP Business Technology Platform strategy for deploying cloud products into restricted and private environments. The team has end-to-end ownership of the complete topic to ensure an excellent customer experience for the SAP BTP Sovereign Cloud product portfolio.
