(Junior) Developer (f/m/d) for AFL Production

What you`ll do:
Summary:
We are looking for a junior developer to support our Application Function Library (AFL) production team, to further automize the production and delivery of our cloud and non-cloud software components. (AFLs are C++ plugins for the SAP HANA database.)

You will be working with modern programming languages and tools to make our software life cycle more efficient. New cloud technologies and trends are key of our endeavor.

The Role:
Using very modern languages like Groovy and Python and related tools, like Jenkins, Artifactory, Docker and Vault we are automating our entire software life cycle process from continuous integration and continuous delivery to development operations (DevOps). Your role as a developer will be to support a small team to maintain and extend these capabilities. 

What you bring:
We expect the following core skills: 

• Proficiency with at least two of the following programming languages: Groovy, Python Java 
• Basic knowledge in C++
• Understanding of continuous integration / continuous delivery concepts and development operations (DevOps) tools like Jenkins, Artifactory, Docker and Vault
• Experience with version control tools (we use GitHub and Gerrit), code reviews and good scripting working practices.

In addition, it would be beneficial if you are familiar with Perl, SQL, Shell scripts, and with Rest APIs. A basic knowledge of SAP Hana data administration would complete your know-how relevant for this position

Meet your team 
Our team consist out of three colleagues. It has been working on these tasks since about 10 years, whereas the requirements and related functionality as well as the complexity have been continuously increasing. Especially SAPs decision to move more applications to the cloud increased significantly the responsibility and the importance of the AFL production team.
