YOUR FUTURE ROLE

 

Summary:

 

As a User Assistance team, we are passionate about our users and support them in fulfilling their information needs. User Assistance (UA) plays a large role in the overall user and product experience. Our users are therefore always at the center of everything we do in UA.

 

We are currently looking for a (Junior) Technical Writer/User Assistance Developer (f/m/d) to further strengthen our team. 

 

The Role:

 

As a (Junior) UA Developer (f/m/d), you are the link between the software development team and the customer. You are responsible for producing high-quality, modern user assistance content to help our users use our software effectively. In your role, you work very closely with software developers, product owners, UX, translators, and product management.

 

Your job will be to ensure that exactly the right information is available in the right place and at the right time; our customers will benefit from concise and accurate user assistance / documentation that clearly describes the functions provided by the SAP solutions and helps users work with our attractive and innovative software.

 

Your tasks will include:

 

  • Creating user assistance deliverables that enable users to implement, configure, and use SAP software:
    • Simple and consistent terminology
    • User-friendly UI texts
    • On-screen/In-app help
    • Product assistance documentation
    • User guides
    • (Interactive) graphics
    • Animated gifs, how-to videos, video scripts
    • Social media content

 

  • Proof-reading and editing content for usability and readability
  • Ensuring quality and adherence to standards and guidelines

 

In your role, you will be based in a local UA team in Walldorf but will work closely with other UA colleagues across the globe. On an operational base, you will be assigned to a development scrum team, which is based in St. Ingbert, Germany. Location St. Ingbert also possible.

 

YOUR PROFILE

 

  • An excellent university degree in Technical Writing, IT, Business Studies or a related subject or, alternatively, a language-based university degree
  • Business fluent English speaker (with excellent knowledge of German)
  • Basic project management skills
  • Flexibility and readiness to communicate and collaborate with other team members and to participate in knowledge transfer
  • The ability to work to deadlines, deliver on time, and ensure high quality
  • Willingness to acquire comprehensive product knowledge and learn new skills at short notice
  • Experience in Microsoft Office applications, especially Word and PowerPoint
  • Customer-orientated work attitude

 

Work Experience

 

  • 3+ years of professional experience in writing technical documentation in an agile software development environment
  • Experience in working in virtual, multi-cultural, distributed development teams is a plus
