About the Role

We are looking for an innovative and execution-oriented Product Manager to join our Product Management Team at SAP Supply Chain Management, Operate. In this role as a Product Specialist / Senior Product Specialist you are the Product Manager in the Empowered Product Team. You work in a team closely together with User Experience and Engineering/Development as well as other product teams within our unit. Within our direct team you will collaborate with a diverse team of Product Managers, to shape and execute a cutting-edge product vision and strategy for SAP's new Capabilities for Maintenance Scheduling and Optimization.

For this you will need to collaborate closely with Product Management and UX Designers as part of the Empowered Product Team. To ensure the solutions works best of suite, you will also collaborate cross-levels in the Engineering unit to ensure we drive customer value consistently and strategically.

 

About the Product

MSO (Maintenance Scheduling and Optimization) is aiming to close the gap for tactical maintenance scheduling for a time-frame of up to 2 years, offering integrated maintenance backlog optimization features (including simulation, graphical apps, insights, automatisms, AI-assisted simulation/planning/recommendations). By integrating and combining information from SAP APM (CBM/failure driven demands), SAP IBP-MRO (demand forecast/material and stock optimization). SAP MSO creates a packaged and optimized (event/slot based) maintenance backlog before even having maintenance demands in ERP and providing input for the operational scheduling and people assignment with SAP FSM.

 

What you'll do

Product Vision and Strategy:

  • Contribute to the Product Strategy for Maintenance Scheduling Optimization, North Star product vision and roadmap and the customer pain points it is solving for.
  • Align with Stakeholders, Communicate and Present the Product Strategy internal and externally in user-groups, customer meetings and other SAP and industry events.
  • Engage with other Teams to influence pricing and commercialization strategy.
  • Engage with Product Marketing to shape and outbound activities and position product value.

 

Strategic Co-Innovation, Customer & Partner Engagement:

  • Ensure SAP’s customer needs are consistently reflected in our product strategy and backlog.
  • Engage with strategic co-innovation and early adopter customers to ensure constantly product-market-fit.
  • Drive awareness for the product and support growth and adoption of our products, engage with customer partners

 

Workshop, Presentation, and Representation:

  • Present to and influence senior executives and key stakeholders, both internally and with customers.
  • Act as a keynote speaker at major customer events.
  • Craft, build, and deliver compelling narratives for cross-product IAM capabilities.
  • Facilitate impactful workshops, presentations, and demonstrations that communicate value effectively.

 

What You Bring:

  • SAP Expertise: Extensive knowledge of Plant Maintenance, Planning- Scheduling and Dispatching solutions, Intelligent Asset Management suite.
  • Strategic Vision & Product Management: Proven ability to shape and communicate strategic roadmaps for end-to-end processes with a holistic SaaS mindset, ensuring alignment with market trends and customer needs.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: build strong relationships across product engineering, marketing, sales, consulting, and other product units, and influence outcomes within a distributed product matrix organization.
  • Customer-Centric & Consulting Experience: A strong focus on product discovery and exploration.
  • Technical Acumen & Creative Problem-Solving: A background as key-user, consultant, or solution-architect that enables deep engagement and the ability to develop innovative, out-of-the-box solutions.
  • Effective Communication: Fluency in German and English, with excellent presentation skills and experience interacting with senior management.
  • Team Player: Ability to influence and coordinate cross-functional teams in a matrix organization, building trusted relationships and leading without formal authority.

 

Education and Qualification

  • 5 years of SAP knowledge with a focus on Plant Maintenance, APO/PP-DS, FSM, or Plant Maintenance / IAM – LoB Solutions for the asset service / maintenance service business and asset-heavy-industry.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP Intelligent Asset Management Products.
  • In-depth understanding of what drives SAP’s customers, with a clear focus on business value and technological breakthroughs; consulting or presales experience is a significant advantage.
  • Bachelor or master’s degree in mechanical/Electrical Engineering or Business, Engineering ideally with experience in (maintenance or manufacturing) demand and capacity planning and scheduling
