YOUR FUTURE ROLE       
The documentation of our technologies and services is a central part of our software. Our documentation is the first point of contact for developers looking to implement their business applications. 
The target group of your documentation are ABAP developers using our programming languages and frameworks.
 
You will work closely with database, application server and tools experts to provide excellent English documentation for our software and to help give our users the best possible experience.

Your responsibilities include: 

  • Create English developer guides for end-to-end scenarios to help ABAP developers get up to speed quickly and use our frameworks effectively. 
  • Create English documentation and example programs for our programming languages, programming model and application services in close collaboration with the development scrum teams and other user assistance developers 
  • Gain expert knowledge about our technologies by reading design documents, discussing with the development teams, debugging code and implementing executable programs to exemplify the software 
  • Ensure that the user assistance deliverables are of high quality, adhere to standards and guidelines, and are written in appropriate style and tone for software developers 
  • Define terminology that is simple, consistent and conforms to industry standards 
  • Act as an advocate for an excellent user experience 
  • Plan and coordinate the user assistance deliverables together with our product owners 
     

YOUR PROFILE        

We are looking for a smart, quality conscious (Senior) User Assistance Developer (f/m/d) who enjoys programming and technical writing and who wants to help us drive the adoption of our innovations in the area of ABAP Platform.
Ideally, you have most of the following experiences and skills:

  • 2+ years of professional working experience in programming and/or technical writing
  • A good to excellent university degree in technical communication or in technical fields, like computer science with experience in technical writing
  • Fluent German and English language skills – both written and verbal - are mandatory 
  • Programming skills in any object-oriented programming language, for example ABAP, Java, Python or C++
  • Experience in SQL is beneficial
  • The ability to express complex technical information in a clear and precise manner, including programming paradigms and concepts 
  • Outstanding communication skills 
  • A willingness to acquire extensive product knowledge and learn new skills at short notice
  • Reliability and open mindset with strong team working skills
