(Junior) C++ Database Developer (f/m/d) for HANA Execution Engine

What you'll do

As a C++ Database Developer, you’ll iterate quickly in a high energy team, delivering technical excellence in designing and developing a high performing and scalable SQL query execution engine. You’ll be part of a team that helps ensure we use the most suitable technologies and the right approach to fulfill the most challenging requirements of our internal and external customers for both transactional and analytical workloads (HTAP). You will also work together with various teams in SAP HANA Cloud Database cluster to ensure overall success of our product. Highest quality standards are at the center of our team. 
As part of this agile team, you will design and implement solutions to address most challenging functional and performance related customer requirements. You will also write regression and unit tests for your own code using different programming languages (e.g., C++, Python and SQL) and testing frameworks. You will participate in code reviews and own your code from development through to quality assurance and support.

The position can be filled as part time position.

What you bring

• Exposure to application profiling, identifying, and addressing performance bottlenecks.
• Experience with computer science fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and complexity analysis.
• Knowledge of database internals, ideally query processing and optimization. 
• Modern C++
• SQL
• Python preferable
• Fluency both written and spoken in English, preferably German.
