Controller / Project Consultant (f/m/d) for Research Projects

YOUR FUTURE ROLE 
 

As a valued member of our Central Research Services (CRS) Team, you will collaborate with financial and project management experts to execute specific financial responsibilities. In addition, you will provide mutual support during time-sensitive assignments to ensure seamless and efficient operations.

 

Your tasks will include:

  • Collaborate with team members to calculate yearly overhead rates for publicly funded projects.
  • Prepare month-end closing and manage SAP postings/recognition of government grants.
  • Conduct monthly forecasts on publicly funded projects and generate reports.
  • Calculate costs incurred on publicly funded projects, including personnel and infrastructure expenses.
  • Prepare financial statements for funding bodies.
  • Assist in the preparation and support of financial audits requested by funding bodies.
  • Develop concepts and processes to continuously improve operational procedures, tools, processes, and content.
  • Work closely with internal experts (e.g., Finance & Accounting, Payroll, HR, Total Rewards) and external financial consultants, act as a trusted advisor to the CRS team and project leads.


YOUR PROFILE 

 

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business management, Finance or Public Administration.
  • Practical experience in finance, project management or project operations with a strong affinity for numbers.
  • High proficiency in German and English (both oral and written) due to the multi-national nature of our projects.
  • Passion, ability to work under pressure, high level of initiative, dedication to taking responsibility, and ensuring quality.
  • Structured, self-directed, team-oriented, with a hands-on approach and excellent prioritization skills.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly present complex information.
  • Knowledge in publicly funded research projects or collaborative R&D projects is advantageous.

 

ABOUT THE TEAM


Being part of SAP University Alliances the SAP Central Research Services Team supports collaborative research and innovation with academic and industrial partners in publicly funded projects or as contractual research. Our main services include project planning, administrative project management, legal support, financial reporting as well as the preparation and support of financial project audits that are conducted by government authorities.
