We are looking for an experienced cloud-native developer for our Kubernetes Lifecycle Management Team in the SAP "Gardener" Unit. As a team, we are responsible for building a Kubernetes-native lifecycle management toolset ("Landscaper"), enabling the SAP Business Technology Platform to deploy and manage Kubernetes-based applications into public and fenced landscapes on a global scale.

We are a team of highly skilled engineers with a deep passion for building highly automated solutions to help Kubernetes application providers simplify software lifecycle management tasks for their Kubernetes workloads using SAP "Gardener" technology.

The role

  • You help defining how the "Landscaper" toolset will further evolve and put architecture plans into reality with the team.
  • You work closely with your fellow developers to deliver clean and well-tested code with agile methodologies.
  • You closely work together with consumers and guide them through adopting the "Landscaper" toolset and methodologies for their needs. 
  • You ensure the availability, resilience, scalability, and quality of your solutions in various cloud deployments




To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Experience in one or more of these languages: Go, Python, Java, C#, C/C++
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes lifecycle solutions like Helm
  • Hands-on experience with cloud technologies like Kubernetes, containers, microservice architectures, and various Hyperscaler APIs
  • Hands-on experience with Linux
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills in fluent English and German - both written and spoken
  • Working experience with modern CI/CD pipelines
