Summary 
 
SAP's Supply Chain Management (SCM) offers a leading SaaS portfolio for real-time supply chain management, including design, planning, manufacturing, delivery, and asset operations. SCM Design, Operate & Service includes SCM Asset Performance Management (APM), SCM Field Service Management (FSM), and Integrated Product Development (IPD) cloud solutions. SAP Asset Performance Management is a cloud solution designed for asset-intensive industries. It aims to run outcome-based operations with a focus on high asset availability, resilient and safe operations. The solution helps manage risk and reliability, optimize maintenance strategies, and connect assets for real-time condition monitoring, enabling more efficient predictive and prescriptive maintenance. This is complemented by SAP Field Service Management that supports technicians with mobile tools to expedite issue resolution, making the service experience effortless for customers, and increasing customer satisfaction by providing proactive customer service with machine learning and IoT technology. Both solutions are integrated with SAP Cloud ERP to enable E2E asset management. SAP Integrated Product Development (IPD) focuses on delivering integrated product development capabilities for discrete and process industries that enable SAP S/4HANA Cloud ERP as the system of record for product data for execution within the enterprise.

 
We are looking for an experienced Executive Leader to head our SCM Design, Operate & Service L2 organization, overseeing Product Management and Engineering for SAP APM, SAP FSM, and SAP IPD. You will lead a team of over 400 professionals, across 13 major locations, driving the strategic direction. You should have a strong background in leading multi-national cloud and SaaS products, and be comfortable in a fast-paced, agile environment. You will drive the vision and strategy for Supply Chain Design, Operate & Service establishing credibility with SAP leaders, product teams, customers, and peers. As a manager, you will act with a CEO mindset, accountable for the success and growth of your product area. 
 
Role Information: 


As the leader of SCM Design, Operate & Service, your responsibilities include: 

  • Provide strategic leadership to Product and Engineering teams, offering guidance and mentorship. 
  • Own the SCM Design & Operate portfolio, including SAP APM, SAP FSM, and SAP IPD, transforming customer problems into product solutions through product discovery, wireframes, prototypes, and delivering effective business outcomes. 
  • Engage with customers, partners, analysts and stakeholders throughout the product lifecycle to ensure alignment with their needs and market requirements. 
  • Conduct market research to identify customer needs, market trends, and competitive landscape, translating insights into actionable product strategies. 
  • Focus on customer adoption and satisfaction at every stage, monitor and analyze product performance metrics, and make data-driven decisions to optimize product offerings and drive revenue growth. 
  • Take ownership of the product roadmap by prioritizing features and capabilities based on customer feedback, market demands, and business objectives. 
  • Lead a highly efficient global engineering organization, driving innovation and delivery excellence. Ensure scalability, engineering expertise, best practices, continuous learning, and successful execution of the product strategy to deliver high-quality products that exceed customer expectations. 
  • Balance the priorities of functional product innovations as desired by customers and partners versus quality improvements and non-functional requirements to achieve high-scale and high-availability operations in the Cloud. 
  • Establish a leadership model to continuously improve development, support, and cloud operations processes to increase productivity. 
  • Build an empowering culture for engineering teams with transparent guardrails and goals, making visible the key contributors to the organization's success and identifying areas needing improvement. 
  • Ensure alignment with overall company goals and objectives. 
  • Act as a trusted advisor to customer executives and the SAP executive board, working closely with the executive leadership team to define and execute the overall business strategy, ensuring that product management and engineering functions are aligned with the company's vision. 
  • Possess exceptional organizational and multi-tasking skills necessary to handle conflicting demands, along with highly refined written communication and oral presentation skills, particularly for senior executive and board-level communication.    

 

A thorough understanding of Supply Chain processes, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to deconstruct critical components and complexity drivers are required. You are expected to provide well-conceived and defensible conclusions, including impact analysis and relevance for the SAP Digital Supply Chain Business Unit. Familiarity with working in a fast-paced, multi-cultural organization, characterized by open and frank dialogue, where time-to-market, productivity, and efficiency are important success factors is necessary. 
 
Role Requirements 
 
Professional with an academic background in Computer Science, Business, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree, MBA, or related advanced degree is advantageous. 

  • Experience in Product Management and/or Engineering leadership roles for SaaS enterprise software solution providers. 
  • Strong knowledge in Asset Management and/or PLM processes and solutions or related fields. 
  • Experience in developing and executing product strategies that lead to revenue growth and market share increase. 
  • Leadership and team management skills, capable of motivating and directing diverse groups, evidenced by high leadership trust and employee engagement scores. 
  • International experience that demonstrates effective communication with multicultural teams. 
  • Communication and presentation skills in English, including C-Level communication, with the ability to convey complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences. 
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven decision-making approach. 
  • Ability to collaborate and influence cross-functional teams to achieve shared objectives. 
  • Adaptability to fast-paced and dynamic environments, with the capacity to adjust to shifting priorities. 
  • Leadership qualities include trustworthiness, empowerment, clarity, reliability, accountability, and execution-focused. 

 
WORK EXPERIENCE  


Over 15 years of experience in Product Engineering or Product Management, focusing on Supply Chain SaaS applications, especially Asset Management, Field Service Management, and PLM.
