What you`ll do

We are looking for a passionate Junior JAVA Developer (f/m/d) to work on our innovative global project contributing to our flagship S/4HANA Public Cloud. You will work in one of the engineering scrum teams responsible for the Public Cloud solutions Compliance, Risk and Tax. Based on the SAP Business Technology Platform we deliver and operate our application, we use the latest concepts and technologies of microservice architecture, continuous delivery, security and Development Operations. 

Your responsibility will cover all stages and tasks within the entire Cloud software development cycle, including the overall responsibility for your code through design, implementation, test automation, continuous integration and deployment. 

You will contribute to backlogs around the application development or potentially also architecture topics. Your willingness to collaborate with customers, end-users and other development teams is a strong need to bring this solution forward.

You need to be comfortable to work in an agile environment, bringing in your competencies as a team player, establishing standards in our team, sharing your knowledge, motivating other team members, building consensus, while being open to new ideas and approaches at the same time.

For our development team we are looking for graduates or developers already with first professional experience.

What you bring
 

Our ongoing expansion relies on the expertise of individuals who possess diverse skills, knowledge, and backgrounds. We are currently seeking for a candidate who possesses the following skills:

• Degree (Bachelor, Diploma, Master) in information technology, computer or natural science, engineering or equivalent subject
• Good capabilities in Java with the relevant technical frameworks
• Knowledge in JavaScript / TypeScript is an advantage
• Familiar with common tools for agile project planning and tracking, source code control and continuous integration (for example JIRA, Git, Jenkins) … would be useful, however not mandatory at the beginning
• Experience with ASE techniques, test-driven development, unit tests, continuous integration & delivery, committer/contributor model and pair programming, …
• High commitment to quality, reliability, and a self-motivating style of working
• Good analytical and communication skills and willingness to continuously learn
• Very Good English language skills (verbal and written) and at least basic level of German and willingness to learn

During your first months, we offer you training courses geared to your individual knowledge and experience, a buddy program. Importantly, we don’t just expect you to learn from us – we want you to share your fresh insights and ideas actively with us as well.

Meet your team
 

The development is set up globally with teams in Walldorf (Germany) and Shanghai (China). A close cooperation between the teams is key and you will work in an international environment directly together with colleagues from other locations. We work in cross functional teams applying Scrum as well as methods of agile software development.
