PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
We are seeking a dedicated Sustainability Procurement Senior Specialist to join our Marketing procurement team. The Sustainability Procurement Senior Specialist will play a critical role in driving sustainable procurement practices, promoting ethical sourcing, and ensuring compliance with environmental and social standards across our supply chain. This individual will work closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to implement sustainable sourcing strategies and initiatives.

 

ABOUT THE GPO MARKETING CATEGORY

The Marketing Category Team is part of the Global Procurement Organization and provides excellent business partnering to our internal and external stakeholders. The category is responsible for the definition and execution of global sourcing strategies in close collaboration with business owners, legal, controlling, as well as for sourcing and supplier management across the globe. The GPO Marketing Category is responsible for the procurement of Advertising & Brand, Paid Media, Direct & Digital Marketing, Events, Market Research, Merchandise, Public Relations and Sponsorships.

 

What you'll do

  • Develop and implement a sustainability strategy for procurement, aligning with the company's overall sustainability goals and objectives.
  • Evaluate and assess supplier sustainability performance, including environmental, social, and ethical practices, through audits, assessments, and third-party certifications.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including purchasing, supply chain, and sustainability teams, to integrate sustainability criteria into procurement processes and supplier selection criteria.
  • Engage with suppliers to drive continuous improvement in sustainability performance, establish clear sustainability expectations, and foster long-term partnerships based on shared values.
  • Monitor and track key sustainability metrics related to procurement activities, analyzing data to evaluate performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Stay informed on emerging trends, regulations, and best practices in sustainable procurement, and leverage this knowledge to drive innovation and enhance sustainability efforts.
  • Support the development of sustainability reports, presentations, and communications to communicate progress and achievements internally and externally.

What you bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Sustainability, or a related field. An advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., CSCP, CPSM, CSR) are preferred.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in procurement, supply chain management, or sustainability, with a focus on sustainable sourcing and supplier management.
  • A strong understanding of sustainability principles, frameworks, and standards, with the ability to integrate sustainability criteria into procurement processes and supplier evaluations.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to drive sustainability performance.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders, and drive change across all levels of the organization and with external suppliers.
  • Project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Passion for sustainability and a genuine commitment to making a positive impact on the environment, society, and communities through responsible procurement practices.
