SAP strives to provide leading solutions in Sustainability Management, enabling our customers to run sustainable businesses. While sustainability covers various dimensions, carbon emissions are certainly one of the most discussed factors these days. Subsequently, carbon footprint calculation is in the center of SAPs efforts developing new Sustainability Management solutions for the enterprise. 
As part of a dedicated team within the larger Sustainability Management area, you will work on research for and implementation of a carbon footprint calculator. The scope of the calculator will grow gradually, starting with a pragmatic implementation of a simple travel footprint calculator.


We are looking for a motivated student supporting our development topics with a high ambition for code quality and curiosity to learn and explore under supervision of an experienced team member. Learning opportunities include a good overview on SAP’s Sustainability Management Applications and the SAP Cloud Native development model. 
Concrete tasks include:

  • Implementation of carbon calculation services along various defined frameworks
  • Documentation of code and underlying logic
  • Support consuming applications with integration of the developed services
  • Exploration of innovative ideas to improve the overall offering


  • Master Student (f/m/d) in Computer science 
  • Experience in professional Java and JavaScript development
  • Fluent in English language
  • Good communication skills
  • Optional but preferred: Experience with SpringBoot Framework
  • Optional but preferred: Experience with SAP Business Technology Platform
  • Optional but preferred: Experience with SAP UI5

Please describe as well your experience and skills in foreign languages and computer programs / programming languages.
