Working Student (f/m/d) - Language Management & Translation (Translator English > German)

What you'll do
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic student (f/m/d) to support our team in various tasks.
After a thorough on-the-job training, these will include:
- Translation of User Interface texts and documentation (English to German)
- Postediting
- Research, definition, and maintenance of terminology
- Quality checks and testing of translated UIs and documentation
- Providing feedback on source texts
- Dispatching of queries from external agencies
- Piloting and testing of new tool developments, if required
What you bring
- Fluent in German and an excellent command of English
- Undergraduate or MA student (f/m/d) of Translation Studies (English/German)
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills
- Computer skills: MS office, translation memory tools: SDL Trados, XTM etc.
- Ability to communicate and collaborate in virtual teams
- Flexibility and readiness to learn new skills at short notice
- Interest in and knowledge about trends in the translation/localization industry
For a working student (studentische Aushilfe or Werkstudent:in) the following applies:
- Maximum of 20 hours per week during semester
- Maximum of 40 hours per week during semester break
Work experience
- Experience of living in an English-speaking country is a plus
- Translation experience and/or business experience is a definite asset
Meet your team
We are a team of English and German translators in the BTP Experience Cross-UX Management unit. Our aim is to create a great user experience for our customers by delivering high-quality translations of user assistance deliverables, such as user interface texts, in-app help, and product documentation, while working in close contact with developers, user assistance developers, and UX designers. Other responsibilities of our team comprise translation project management, translation enablement, language editing as well as contributing to the overall translation tool and technology landscape at SAP through cross-projects and initiatives. If you are excited about working and learning in a dynamic team as well as working with various translation and documentation tools in a live environment, this is the job for you.
Your set of application documents should contain a cover letter, a resume in table form, school leaving certificates, certificate of enrollment, current university transcript of records, copies of any academic degrees already earned, and if available, references from former employers (including internships). Please also describe your experience and skills in foreign languages and computer programs / programming languages.
