PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
Global Procurement Organization (GPO) combines all SAP procurement units. We significantly improve SAP's performance by leveraging our overall purchasing power and realizing sustainable savings by executing globally streamlined category strategies. The GPO category Services / HR is a global, virtual team responsible for the procurement of services (consulting and development services) and HR related services (temporary work, healthcare, employee training, recruiting).
The Services / HR procurement team strives to implement best-in-class procurement processes, provide first-class services to internal customers, find and select suppliers, minimize risks to SAP, create transparency, and improve and manage supplier relationships.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
SAP´s Global Procurement Organization is looking for an encouraged intern to support the Services/HR Team in Walldorf at SAP headquarter:

  • Acting as single point of contact for maintaining Global Preferred Supplier Database
  • Support local buyers in daily procurement job activities
  • Demonstrates good capacity for evaluating suppliers, sourcing and supplier management
  • Administration of different data sources and reports
  • Evaluates and develops the existing suppliers
  • Proactively contributing to projects and driving the change (ARIBA, Fieldglass, …)
  • Additional areas of responsibility may be identified over the time depending on the candidate’s strengths and interests. The key for the successful candidate is being eager to learn, a keen interest to Procurement topics as well as a high affinity to technology.

 EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Currently enrolled as Student at a university or a university of applied sciences
  • Preferred fields of study: Business Informatics, Business Administration, Marketing, HR, Controlling or Natural Sciences
  • Ability & willingness to learn and work in an international environment
  • Analytical skills, high quality awareness
  • Soft skills:
    • Highly motivated, high Service Attitude, result driven, proactive, team member, good communication skills and the ability to work independently and flexible
    • Ability to work in international teams and virtual environment 
    • Identify business related opportunities
    • Good time management
  • Computer skills:
    • Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point – advanced knowledge
    • Any SAP Technology is a plus
  • Languages: Excellent German skills written and spoken; Fluency in English, any different language is a plus
  • Others:
    • Understanding for 3rd party services related topics is a plus
    • Project management skills is a plus
    • Continuous improvement of technical skills and process knowledge
