PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

 

Key objective is to develop solutions to support sailors’ decision making and help link their strategy to execution. This involves e.g. capturing, analysis and display of boat performance data, wind and current. Have a look at our SAP Sailing Playlist at Youtube.

 

In addition to that, we are developing technical solutions that help promoting the sailing sport by more exciting media coverage for such as live scoring and performance analysis during a race for world-class sailing events.

 

The lessons learned in our project are continuously transferred into SAP's technology strategy.

 

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

 

We are looking for students (f/m) to work with us on building powerful and compelling web applications for spectator support and race analysis implementations of smart analysis algorithms for performance data mobile applications for boat tracking, trim data capturing.

 

Our project offers unique possibilities to work in close collaboration with sailing top athletes. Site visits at sailing venues all over the world for end-user interviews and event support are regularly part of our activities.

 

There are opportunities for part time working students (f/m) or full time interns (f/m).

 

For you, this is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a real-world project with immediate customer exposure. Learn about useful standard technologies such as Java, OSGi, GWT, mobile and web technologies, system operations, etc. in an open and free (as in "free speech") working environment.

 

Experienced colleagues will help you getting the best out of your potential and developing your skills.

 

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

 

  • Student (f/m) - Preferred field(s)of study: Computer Science, Business Information Science or other IT-related fields
  • Computer skills: Java, GWT, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Android, iOS
  • Fluency in English and German – verbal and written
  • Passionate team player who is not afraid of deadlines
  • Knowledge and interest in sailing sports would be a great asset

 

Your set of application documents should contain a cover letter, a resume in table form, school leaving certificates, certificate of enrollment, current university transcript of records, copies of any academic degrees already earned, and if available, references from former employers (including internships). Please describe as well your experience and skills in foreign languages and computer programs / programming languages.
