Our team has the mission to design and develop a massively scalable, multi-tenant aware and extremely fast data management system for big data (SAP Vora). Besides cluster and landscape management it includes engines like relational or graph and distributed query processing.
Central part of the system is a serverless infrastructure for data flow execution based on containers and Kubernetes. On top of this infrastructure we develop our next generation tools like image processing, statistical processing, machine learning and others.
In the development process, we make use of the Hadoop eco system and integrate into Apache Hadoop, Apache Spark and other components. 
We are looking for people to build up a quality assurance team for the SAP Big Data Vora in Germany.

As a member of the SAP Big Data Vora team, you will be dealing with critical situations in which you do the technical analysis, handle the communication with the customer and the SAP internal communication, and provide the solution to the customer. During your analysis, you will work closely together with the developers and acquire deep technical knowledge of the different components. Your daily work will require the ability to adapt very fast to changing situations and to prioritize quickly. 
You will need to:

•    Debug complex database engine and SAP Vora platform problems of customers and SAP internal stakeholders 

•    Close cooperation with development: Align customer requirements with our development team

•    Provide reproducible scenarios of customer issues to developers 

•    Analyze performance and scalability of the SAP Vora

•    Communicate issues with front office support or customer 

•    Provide feedback to and work hand-in-hand with development to continuously improve supportability features and the documentation 

Required skills:

•    Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related fields

•    Good knowledge of database architectures and ideally Hadoop

•    Proficient in Linux system administration

•    Fluent in at least 2 of these languages: Java, C++, Python, Ruby, Bash Scripting, SQL

•    You are comfortable working in a collaborative team environment and have a strong customer service mindset

•    Fluent English both spoken and written 

Preferred skills:

•    You have experience with performance analysis and optimization

•    Knowledge of the networking and object oriented design skills

•    Experience in system architecture, distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and large-scale engineering challenges 

•    You are familiar with debugging and analyzing complex problems
