We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Analytics Portfolio Owner to lead the creation, development, and management of analytical assets specifically tailored for our sales organization. This critical role acts as the bridge between our sales stakeholders and technical development teams, ensuring that business needs are translated into impactful, data-driven solutions. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of business intelligence, analytical architectures, and a proven ability to manage complex project portfolios, from requirements gathering to successful delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Vision & Roadmap: Define and maintain the strategic roadmap for analytical asset development within the sales domain, aligning with overall business objectives and data strategy.
- Business Requirements Translation: Serve as the primary liaison, gathering, analyzing, and translating complex sales business requirements into clear, actionable technical user stories and acceptance criteria within JIRA.
- Analytical Asset Management: Oversee the entire lifecycle of analytical products and assets, including dashboards, reports, and data models, ensuring they meet user needs and deliver measurable business value.
- BI Solution Design & Oversight: Leverage strong Business Intelligence (BI) expertise to guide the design and development of robust analytical solutions, demonstrating a strong preference for and experience with SAP tools, particularly SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC).
- Architectural Understanding: Apply a comprehensive understanding of analytical architectures to ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, secure, and integrated effectively within our existing data ecosystem.
- Prioritization & Backlog Management: Critically evaluate and prioritize the analytical backlog based on business impact, technical feasibility, and resource availability, driving efficient execution.
- Communication & Stakeholder Management: Proactively communicate project timelines, deliverables, progress, and potential risks to sales leadership, technical teams, and other key stakeholders, fostering transparency and alignment.
- Quality Assurance & User Acceptance: Collaborate closely with development and QA teams to ensure the accuracy, reliability, and usability of all delivered analytical assets, and facilitate user acceptance testing.
- Performance Measurement: Define key performance indicators (KPIs) for analytical assets and regularly evaluate their effectiveness in supporting sales objectives.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related quantitative field.
- 5+ years of experience in product ownership, business analysis, or a similar role focused on data and analytics, preferably within a sales or commercial context.
- Demonstrated proficiency in translating complex business requirements into technical specifications and user stories, with hands-on experience using JIRA or similar agile project management tools.
- Strong foundational knowledge and practical experience in Business Intelligence (BI) concepts, methodologies, and reporting tools.
- Good understanding of analytical architectures, data warehousing principles, and ETL processes.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and stakeholders in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Desirable/Bonus Skills
- Direct experience with SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) or other BI.
- Experience working with large-scale sales data sets and understanding of sales operations processes.
- Certifications in Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum Product Owner, SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager).
- Knowledge of agile methodologies and project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
- Exposure to sales analytics, CRM data, or financial data domains.
