What you`ll do
Summary:
You are a service-orientated problem solver who likes to play as part of a team and dig into the details? You are not afraid to learn something new? – Then we, the team of OctoBus, SAPs central data lake, want your support as a Site Reliability Engineer.
Our major tool stack is an Elastic based solution, fully containerized, deployed with a fingertip and follows the infrastructure as code principle.
You will work across the whole stack: From Elasticsearch, Kibana and Logstash all the way down to OS-Levels. Always on the watch for errors and striving for improvements.
The Role:
Our services are designed and implemented using cutting-edge technologies, especially Kubernetes, and are running at large scale on various infrastructures.
As a Site Reliability Engineer at OctoBus, you will join the team responsible for the overall operation of our data platform. You will respond to incidents and conduct their root cause analysis. You will carry out proactive checks of our systems and services. You will help automate landscape deployment on various hyperscalers and improve the availability, scalability, and reliability of our services.
The role requires a security clearance (SÜG), you are willing to submit to the verification process.
What you bring
• Proficient in the administration and operation of Linux-based systems
• Proficient with provisioning and managing containerized workloads
• Ability to program (structured and OOP) using one or more high-level languages, such as Python, Java or Go
• Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana or Elasticsearch
• Experience in designing and managing CI/CD pipelines
We are looking for a team player who seeks data driven decisions. As our team is globally distributed English language skills are required. In addition fluent German language skills are required for this role. You are willing to work in rotating shifts and on-call duty.
