SAP aims to develop an Open Reference Architecture (ORA) for a secure and sustainable cloud edge infrastructure that includes intelligent optimization methods for data transparency and security. This reference infrastructure, inspired by the EU IPCEI-CIS (Important Project of Common European Interest – Next Generation Cloud Infrastructure and Services) program, shall be the basis for future software development and a prerequisite for a pan-European cloud edge infrastructure. 

SAP will be working on the publicly funded project with both experienced employees from its existing workforce but also new hires. Therefore, we are looking for suitable candidates. If you are interested in Cloud Operating System development and operation, the usage and further development of Open-Source solutions and standards, interoperability, efficiency, and sustainability you should consider applying. 

 

What you’ll do
Step into the dynamic world of quality management with our Gardener Project team! As a Quality Specialist, you'll be at the heart of ensuring excellence in our cutting-edge cloud-native project. Your expertise will drive the standard of our deliverables, shaping the future of cloud computing. You'll collaborate with a diverse team, implement rigorous quality control processes, and ensure our solutions meet the highest industry standards. This role isn't just about maintaining quality - it's about championing it, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and making a significant impact in the tech world.

 

The Role

As a Quality Specialist you will:

  • work in the Gardener Program Management team.
  • prepare and perform compliant Gardener deliveries.
  • roll-in new requirements from Industry or SAP standards.
  • collaborate with central teams to shape cloud-ready quality and delivery processes.
  • continuously improve Gardener’s quality and delivery processes to increase efficiency and reliability, with a focus on process automation wherever feasible.

What you bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience in a similar role, e.g. working as quality engineer in a cloud development team.
  • Understanding of release management principles and practices.
  • Understanding of software development processes and the software development lifecycle.
  • Experience with Program Test and Source Code Management tools is a plus (for instance Sirius, XRAY, Cumulus, Git).
  • Hands-on development experience. Preferably automation skills (e.g. scripting languages).
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes and its architecture is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify, analyze and resolve quality issues.
  • A curious mindset and willingness to explore new paths and challenge existing processes.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
  • Fluency both written and spoken in English and preferably in German.
