About the Role
We are looking for an innovative and execution-oriented Product Manager to join our Product Management Team at SAP Supply Chain Management, Operate. In this role as a Product Specialist / Senior Product Specialist you are the Product Manager in the Empowered Product Team. You work in a team closely together with User Experience and Engineering/Development as well as other product teams within our unit. Within our direct team you will collaborate with a diverse team of Product Managers, to shape and execute a cutting-edge product vision and strategy for SAP's new Capabilities for Maintenance Scheduling and Optimization
About the Product
MSO (Maintenance Scheduling and Optimization) is aiming to close the gap for tactical maintenance scheduling for a time-frame of up to 2 years, offering integrated maintenance backlog optimization features (including simulation, graphical apps, insights, automatisms, AI-assisted simulation/planning/recommendations). By integrating and combining information from SAP APM (CBM/failure driven demands), SAP IBP-MRO (demand forecast/material and stock optimization). SAP MSO creates a packaged and optimized (event/slot based) maintenance backlog before even having maintenance demands in ERP and providing input for the operational scheduling and people assignment with SAP FSM.
What you'll do
- Collaborate closely with a dedicated engineering team in a 1:1 relationship, fostering a culture of shared ownership and mutual respect
- Conduct discovery work to deeply understand problem statements and explore potential solutions
- Perform user research to validate assumptions, gather insights, and inform solution design
- Lead the refinement process for product backlog items, ensuring they are well-defined, feasible, and aligned with overall product goals
- Work with engineers to break down complex problems into manageable, deliverable pieces
- Act as the primary liaison between the engineering team and other stakeholders, including Strategic Product Management, designers, and business units
- Collaborate with UX designers to ensure that implemented solutions meet both functional and usability requirements
- Manage stakeholder expectations by communicating progress, risks, and trade-offs effectively
- Conduct user testing to gather feedback on implemented features and iterate on solutions
- Work closely with QA to define acceptance criteria and ensure high-quality deliverables
- Collaborate with Strategic Product Management to provide insights on technical feasibility and effort estimations
- Stay updated on technical trends and best practices relevant to your product area
- Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes and methodologies
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of product documentation, including user stories and technical specifications
- Participate in release planning and coordinate with release management teams
- Help prioritize and manage technical debt to ensure long-term product health
- Foster a data-driven approach to product development, leveraging analytics to inform decision-making
- Collaborate with customer support teams to address and prioritize reported issues
- Engage with strategic co-innovation and early adopter customers to ensure constantly product-market-fit
What You Bring:

SAP Service and Asset Management Expertise: Extensive knowledge of Plant Maintenance, Customer Service/Field Service, Planning- Scheduling and Dispatching solutions, Intelligent Asset Management suite

Domain and Business Expertise: As Consultant, Key-User or Product Expert from related fields, you have deep expertise of Planning and Scheduling, General Optimization Problems for Maintenance Tasks, Demand and Capacity Management of Maintenance and Service Teams

Technical Acumen & Creative Problem-Solving: Basic understanding of software architecture and development practices. Ability to understand and discuss technical concepts with engineering teams

Effective Communication: Experience in conducting user research and applying insights to product development. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholder

Team Player: Ability to influence and coordinate cross-functional teams in a matrix organization, building trusted relationships and leading without formal authority

Work experience: 3-5 years of professional experience, with a focus on Plant Maintenance, APO/PP-DS, FSM, or Plant Maintenance / IAM – LoB Solutions for the asset service / maintenance service business and asset-heavy-industry.

Academic Background: Bachelor or master’s degree in mechanical/Electrical Engineering or Business, Engineering ideally with experience in (maintenance or manufacturing) demand and capacity planning and scheduling
